Leesburg is located in central Florida and sits in the middle of a lot of little lakes, ponds and wetlands. With Florida not having its HARD winter yet, the mosquito’s have not disappeared.
The lake in the photo is Lake Harris. It is absolutely beautiful, stretching for miles and miles.
I took this photo from the boat ramp. I’ve never seen anyone catch anything, but fishing does seem to be very popular here.
There is also a lot of water fowl here, from egrets to seagulls.
The lake sits right on highway 27 and has a boat ramp and a pier. There are a couple of portable toilet things near the boat ramp. There are a lot of woods around here, but no “official” camping areas unless you pay a $50 deposit.
Just remember to bring either citronella coils or candles or some other form of mosquito protection because they do not hesitate to come over for a taste of fresh blood.
