You who are far away, hear what I have done; and you who are near, acknowledge My might. Isaiah 33:13
God has given us the Bible for a set of instructions in order to learn and grow. The Bible tells us all that has happened and teaches us not just what we should do, but it also teaches us what we should not do. God wants each of us to put His word on our hearts, so that we will have an understanding of His power and might, and His love, mercy and grace.
Those who are far away, hear the voice of the Lord calling to you to be saved. Heed His calling and accept the sacrifice that Jesus made just for you. Know the true love and power of God and choose life.
I had a person once ask me “If God were really so all powerful, why doesn’t He just wipe out the entire earth?” My answer to that person was “He could if He wanted to. Just look at Sodom and Gomorrah. Those people absolutely refused to listen to God and God ended up having to destroy all that was there, only saving a handful of faithful people. But God was saddened at that. God was saddened each time- all throughout history- when His people turned from Him, rebelled and did evil and He had to chastise them in order to bring about repentance. Then God said, I love My people, I want all to be with Me, how can I show them just how much I love them so they will hear? That is when He decided to show just how much He truly loved His people. He gave His very own Son as a sacrifice for all our sins.”
It is truly amazing to think that someone, even God, could love the wretched people of this earth. But He does. He loves each and every single person all throughout the generations, from the very beginning.
Those who are near speak up and tell people of the awesome glory that God has. Don’t be shy, don’t be ashamed, but rejoice and share because we have something that we should desire all people to have. We have the promise of life.
It’s good to let people know that God keeps forgiving His people over and over and over and over again, but it’s also ok to let people know that God chastises those who need correcting.
And ya know what? It’s ok to share the love of God with everyone you meet, not just your friends, family and fellow church parishioners.
So go forth and share the awesome power and might of God, but at the same time share the truth of His love, mercy and grace. Be God’s mirror and reflect Him through your actions and words.
