I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of man who dies and the son of man who is made like grass, that you have forgotten the Lord your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, that you fear continually all day long because of the fury of the oppressor, as he makes ready to destroy? But where is the fury of the oppressor? The exile will soon be set free, and will not die in the dungeon, nor will his bread be lacking. For I am the Lord your God, who stirs up the sea and its waves roar the Lord of hosts is His name. I have put My words in your mouth and have covered you with the shadow of My hand, to establish the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, ‘You are My people.’ Isaiah 51:12-16
We are God’s people and just as the Lord helped His people to be free so very long ago, He will also help us in our hour of need.
As the Lord reminds His people, He is the one who created the heavens and the earth. Why do you fear man? If He God can create the heavens and the earth, why do you not believe He can save you in your time of trouble?
The Lord is crying out to you this day, ‘Do not fear man, but rejoice, for I am with you. I will raise you up, I will set you free! Put aside the cares of the world for I am the Lord thy God. There is none like Me.’
Trust in the Lord, for He will help those who are in need. He will free those who are oppressed and He will lift up those who have been put down. Exalt His holy name and love Him above all else. And He will set you free for you are His people!
