Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Philippians 4:8
There are times we tend to start thinking of only the mistakes we make and how we could have done better, we start thinking of only the bad and stop thinking of the good. Soon it becomes overwhelming and consumes us. We start to live in despair and we loose our focus on the love that God has for us.
We need to dwell on the good things God has done in our life and not at our own faults. God tells us this so that we will remember that it’s through His love and grace that we can be everything He wants us to be, and you don’t have to worry about what you want to be and you especially don’t have to worry about what others want you to be.
And when you do make a mistake or when you stumble and fall, God will always be there to pick you back up. As is says in Psalms 48:14 For such is God, our God forever and ever; He will guide us until death.
So dwell on what is good, sing praises to the Lord and always remember He loves you so much that He gave a very part of Himself so you may have life. What better thing to dwell on than such an awesome love as that.
To God be ALL glory, honor and praise!
