Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued. Daniel 12:1
Though there are other angels mentioned in the Bible, Michael is the only one called an Archangel. Michael, the great prince, whose name means “who is like God”, is known as the protector of the people of God, a leader of angels.
In Revelation 12, a woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head appears. Then the great red dragon appears and stands before the woman who is ready to give birth, so he might devour the child when it is born. But Michael, along with his angels’ battle against the dragon and his angels and the woman flees to the wilderness to a place of safety prepared by God.
Michael the Archangel, who would not even pronounce a railing judgment against Satan, now takes his angels and goes into battle with Satan and throws him down to earth.
Michael, obedient to the will of God did not destroy Satan, but saved the task for The One who is equipped to accomplish it.
To attempt to accomplish a task that has not has been appointed to you leaves you open to harm and can lead you to destruction if not kept in check. This is because God has not equipped you for the task. There is only One who is equipped for the destruction of Satan, though many have big egos and try to take him on.
A big ego causes many today condemn Satan and some even go so far as to dare Satan to attack them. But they need to remain controlled and realize that it is not their task, not their calling, not their purpose. They also need to realize that this particular task can only be done once and can only be done when God is ready.
Allow God to rescue you from destruction. Be obedient to God’s will and let the Lord do the hard work. He is the only one equipped for such a task.
Always remember, Pride is a very destructive thing.
