The Devil Is Hungry

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5:6-11

Sometimes waiting for God can be difficult because we, as mere humans, tend to want things in our time. But God has a perfect time and purpose for everything. If we take just a moment to humble ourselves, with trueness in heart, and bow down before the Lord and give him your anxiety, He will take it from you. We can not understand the purposes of God, but we can have faith in His word.

The devil, on the other hand, absolutely loves it when we want things in our time. It opens the door to doubt. He is just waiting for this so he can build on that doubt making you believe you will not receive what you have prayed for, he will make you feel as if you are not worthy, and he will do everything he can to destroy you… and believe me he is extremely good at doing his job.

But even Satan serves a good purpose for God in doing this, helping to build your faith. But you must be firm, knowing that God will never forsake you. As a pastor I once met likes to tell people, “When you really begin to doubt and get to the point where you feel like you are losing your faith, you need to literally stand on the word of God. Take out your Bible, go to the scripture, stand on that word and say ‘God you made a promise, I believe it, now you keep it’.”

Cast Satan away from you, saying “Be Gone!” and believe that you will, in fact, have your prayers answered. Keep an optimistic attitude, knowing that there is ALWAYS a good purpose in even the worst events. And always, always, always remember that the Lord is your strength and your shield, and He will NEVER leave you or forsake you, but He will save you. And you will glorify the Lord in return, allowing others to see His works through you.

God truly is an awesome God, believe it and say to God and God alone be the power and glory forever!  AMEN!
