But we do not want you to be uniformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-16
When a person of God dies so many will morn the loss. Yes it hurts when someone you love dies, but we should not grieve the loss because they are in a place of rest. They no longer have to deal with the worries of the world.
We really should celebrate their life. Reflect on the good the person has done, share a special way that person has touched you or take a moment to say thank you. You have not lost them; they are in your heart and will always be a part of you.
Now, remember to take a moment and thank God for allowing that person to be a part of your life – a part of you. Thank the Lord for giving that person rest for a job well done.
God has given that person victory!
This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! Psalms 118:24
