Go to the ant, O sluggard, observe her ways and be wise Proverbs 6:6
If you continue reading these verses it talks of gathering food without needing direction. They know their job and they go do it.
Though there are many interesting facts about ants, there is something I always think about first when I think about ants. It’s not about each ones individual job, it’s about teamwork.
When an ant has a load that is too heavy to bear, other ants come to help carry the load and they work together. The workers keep coming and coming until they have enough to carry the load.
It’s what God calls for in His children also – to help each other bear the load when the load gets to be too great. The Lord calls us to be a unified body of Christ.
Take your human body as an example. If you have an itch on your leg, it takes your muscles, back, arm, hand and fingers to scratch it. Each part has their own individual function, yet they work together to accomplish a specific goal. God desires us to work together in the same fashion. We each have our own purpose, yet we are to work together to accomplish a goal.
There is one more proverb I want to share along these lines.
He who separates himself seeks his own desire, He quarrels against all sound wisdom. Proverbs 18:1
Wisdom says we are to work together to help each other. When we separate, we stop thinking about what the other members of the body may need in order to accomplish a goal and we seek after our own desire. We put our needs and our desires first and consider others to be less worthy.
Don’t fight wisdom, but unite and help build each other up.
