Stumbling blocks, sometimes we see them before we actually stumble, but most often they are unseen and the damage is not known until we trip or fall. Stumbling blocks are anything that takes your focus off the vision you have been given to follow. A stumbling block is also anything which causes you to do what is wrong rather than doing what is right.
The hardest stumbling blocks to recover from are the ones which cause you to loose your integrity. To have integrity is to have sound judgment or to be known to stick to good values, to be honest and upright and not saying one thing yet doing another. Integrity lost is something very difficult to regain. Once you have given the appearance of being dishonest or false, the distrust will then be there and it will take time to earn that trust back because the question of whether you are now being honest or not will be there for a very long time.
It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come. God will make a way for those who path has been blocked, and He will pick up those who have fallen, but woe to the man through whom the stumbling block comes, for the integrity of the upright will guide them, but the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them. (Matthew 18:7; Proverbs 11:3)
Remember always that a person founded on good moral integrity will have that deep in their heart. They will have a true conscience which tells them to look at their actions and correct what is wrong. The pain of lost integrity will take time to heal, but it will eventually heal as long as you have the ability to see your wrong actions and correct them.
