The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him. It is good that he waits silently for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:25-26
There are times in our life when the turmoil we go through seems to overwhelm and consume us. We start to grasp at anything and everything in order to pull ourselves free and we become emotionally unstable. It is times like these when we really need to sit in silence, pray, sing and praise the Lord, and wait for Him to give instruction on how to deal and handle with our situation because the struggle itself can be devastating.
Such struggling can be related to getting stuck in quicksand.
When a person gets stuck in quicksand, they tend to struggle fiercely to get out. They more they struggle, the faster they sink, which causes them to struggle even more and can cause panic and confusion, which makes them sink even faster.
The struggle can cause the person to reach out and grasp for something-anything, hoping it’s a vine, a branch, or anything at all that they can use to pull themselves to safety. But by this time they are in such a state of turmoil that they may not realize that the vine they just grasped is really a deadly snake.
But if a person just sits still, though they make still be stuck in the quicksand, they will not sink. If they slowly lay back, they will find they can actually float on the quicksand and gently paddle to safety.
The children of God need to always remember that our struggles are not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12
The dark forces are always trying to find a way to bring the children of God down, always trying to cause confusion, always lying in wait, ready to take advantage of anyone who starts to struggle and sink.
But if a person struggling can wait, they will hear the perfect solution that God will give with a calm peacefulness that reflects the very essence of the awesome love He has for His children.
Lay back and allow God to gently pull you to safety.
